GUS

German Shepherd - 14 months old, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped

Gus needs to be given the time and patience to settle and adjust to his new home and surroundings. Initially he is going to be hard work as he needs to understand the rules and the discipline required of him. Boundaries definitely need to be set from the get go.

He does love a fuss from people and likes a belly scratch. He is very food orientated and likes his treats. He doesn't howl or whine unless he hears a noise at night but then goes quiet quickly. He travels well and he sits and downs on command mostly as he was going to weekly classes and responding fantastically to them. Gus is a very bright dog who likes to be challenged and we found he likes agility training.

His down side is he hates cats

He is a really nice boy, very people friendly but still has a thing for jumping up, appears to be dog friendly with most dogs but as always careful introductions are required. He is house trained. He is strong and initially very bouncy but calms down once he has said his hellos. Very playful and still very puppy like with his actions and can be nippy or grab but only if bored.

Any children need to be 6+ and already used to large breed dogs.

A secure garden with minimum of 6ft fencing is required.

We are ideally seeking a home where Gus is not left for more than a few hours max per day and definitely experience with the breed would be advantageous.

Contact Wallace Kennels - he is in Essex.

An application form is required in the first instance but DO NOT apply if you are going away in the next few weeks.
